Happy first hump day of FALL, beauties! How’s your season going so far? So, if you’re like me, you’re ready to throw on the sweaters, scarves, and booties and tackle the months ahead. But before you can worry about your wardrobe, take a step back and focus on your beauty and skin care routine for the upcoming weather! I’m here to share my tips for a routine revamp so you can be fresh-faced for fall:
My #1 tip is to make sure you are using the correct skin care regimen! Your cleanser and toner are the true foundation to the rest of your routine…but are you using the appropriate products for your skin type? The fall season may be the PERFECT time to switch up the products you’ve been using in the warmer months. I know I switch from using the Extraction System for oilier skin in the summer to using the Sustaining System in the winter. This allows a better balance of my complexion while not being too drying in the cooler seasons ahead!
BEAUTY TIP: When changing or adding in products to your regimen, allow at least a solid 2 weeks on your new skin care before any other changes. Beauty is all about slow progress, really, and you don’t want to overload your skin all at once!
My favorite part of my skin care routine: MASKS! With options for acne, sensitive, or dry skin, there are SO many different masks, peels, and scrubs for you to try for your skin. (Take into account my Beauty Tip from above, of course!) To slough away any buildup of summer sun and oils on your skin, opt for exfoliating twice per week ONLY. Any more than that will irritate the skin…and that’s a no-no for the cold, harsh weather in the near future.
BEAUTY TIP: While I mentioned using the Extraction System from Enza Essentials earlier, I LOVE alternating the Extraction Enzyme Peel and Pore Extraction Masque each week for a super deep and clean feeling in my pores! I even use them as spot treatments in a pinch to take care of any blemished areas!
The fall season is the BEST time to start incorporating new serums and acids into your skin care routine if you haven’t already! Using different serums that contain BHAs and AHAs can help to chemically improve and correct your skin’s tone and texture like never before. My favorite is the Glycolic Serum from Enza Essentials – this chemically exfoliates away any impurities in the skin from the summer! The Vitamin C Serum also helps to brighten and even out my skin tone!
BEAUTY TIP: You may have heard about switching from lightweight serums to heavier cremes in the colder seasons…and it’s all true, this will keep your skin in its best shape! The Vitamin C Creme from Enza Essentials is soooo hydrating while delivering maximum antioxidants to the skin!
First of all, beauties, if you’re not using peptides yet…you are def missing out on the power of anti-aging! The best thing to do for your skin to stay fresh-faced for fall? Incorporate stronger antioxidants that have moisturizing and renewing properties! Adding in Enza Essentials’ Tri-Peptide Cell Activator not only keeps your skin hydrated and protected, but it also keeps skin from aging (it’s true)!
BEAUTY TIP: Using a peptide serum or moisturizer just twice a day in-between the brows, around the eyes, and on the forehead can help reduce wrinkles and lines SO much! Slather on your moisturizing creme after your serums every time to lock in these hydrating, anti-aging benefits.
Just because that lovely sunshine starts to hide in the fall and winter months doesn’t mean your skin remains unaffected… UVA and UVB rays can STILL get to your skin (and yes, you can get sunburn from the sun reflecting of the snow)! Never, ever, EVER forget your sunscreen every. single. day. Seriously! I can’t walk out the door without my Advanced Protection SPF 30!
BEAUTY TIP: Up your SPF coverage with your makeup! Some foundations – like jane iredale’s pressed powders or DreamTint (below) – have an SPF of at least 15 for even more protection from rays. Yes, please!
