THE EXACT AMOUNT OF PRODUCT YOU SHOULD BE USING

Hi, Enza beauties!! So, I know all of you care about taking care of your skin: you double-cleanse, moisturize, and wear SPF on the daily (I hope!). But let’s go back to basics! Do you know the exact amount of product you should be using? You may feel like the-more-the-merrier when it comes to cleansing and exfoliating – especially this time of year, but I’m here to size up your skin care! Read below to make your products last longer to keep your skin (and wallet) happy:

CLEANSER

Let’s start with step one: cleansing! You should be distributing about an almond-sized amount of cleanser to your entire face and neck. This will ensure you reach all areas of the skin that have been under makeup and pollutants alllllll day long. And be sure to rinse and repeat to penetrate the deeper layer of skin for a better clean!

TONER

First off, if you aren’t already using a toner twice a day, you should be! Swiping toner over your skin with a cotton round will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your skin care routine. Make sure the cotton round is wet (I use around 6 sprays), but not so saturated that it is dripping!

SERUMS

Next up: serums! Whether it’s your vitamin c, glycolic, or Tri-Peptide, a little bit definitely goes a long way! Massaging a small, raspberry-size amount all over your face and neck is just enough to last you the day or night and get your skin in its best shape ever.

MOISTURIZER

Fall and winter weather especially call for extra hydration – but there’s no need to go overboard! Make that bottle of moisturizer or night creme go the extra mile but only applying a blueberry-sized amount. Don’t forget to massage in tiny circles for all-over coverage!

SPF

Here’s the most important step of your routine: SPF! And of course you need this skin-saver ALL year long. Similar to your moisturizer, a quarter-sized amount will do. But don’t forget your ears, nose, hands, feet, or hairline! Oh, and please make sure you’re using a sun-protection factor of at least 30.

FACE MASK

Even though you should only be using a face mask or deep-exfoliating 2-3 times a week, it can be tempting to cake it on for a spa night. Instead, opt for a smaller quantity of product to make your faves last longer! If your mask is designed for acne or oil, it can be too drying if more than a nickel-sized amount is used. On the flip side, pile on a little more (quarter-sized) for facial masks aimed at hydrating the skin.

EYE CREME

Finally, be kind to your peepers! Dispense a pea-sized amount TOTAL to apply to both eyes. Using your ring finger, gently dab eye creme or gelee above and below your eyes to decrease puffiness and diminish fine lines. If you’re using too much of a good thing around the eye area, you could be pulling the delicate skin and causing more fine lines (eek!).

There you have it! The exact amount of product you should be using from cleansing to eye creme. Be sure to share your skincare tips in the comments, and check out my fall Enza faves below!
