Spring has come and gone and the heat has officially kicked in…so it’s time to show off a little summer skin! Getting and maintaining that summer, sun-kissed glow (*without the sunbathing or tanning bed!*) is easier than you may think. Read below for my fave ways to get beach-ready skin:
Step 1: Exfoliate
You may not have gotten into the habit this past winter or spring, but it’s time to try dry brushing! SERIOUSLY, ladies, it does absolute wonders for your skin! Not only are you exfoliating (alongside using an all-over body scrub), but you’re increasing circulation all over your body which decreases the appearance of cellulite…hello, bikini season. This exfoliation will play a huge part in getting your skin ready for a self-tanner! And shaving doesn’t hurt, either, to get your skin ASAP (as smooth as possible).
Step 2: Apply Your Glow
OK, I’ve been there, too… the streaky, orange, and sometimes hot mess that is applying self-tanner. But Jane Iredale’s Tantasia is SO different! This miracle-in-a-bottle is super hydrating and actually smells good. Bonus: you can use it on your body AND your face! Also, if you aren’t too keen on self-tanner for your face, I’ve been obsessed with bronzers lately – they leave that subtle beach-y glow without clogging your pores!
Step 3: Moisturize
This may seem like a counterintuitive tip, but keep reading! Even those of us with a more oily complexion have to keep our skin moisturized in hot and humid weather to control our natural oil production – but how do you not feel like your face will melt?! Reaching for a non-greasy SPF will help to balance your skin’s moisture levels and even out pigmentation AND protect your skin from further damage. Win win win. And don’t forget to protect your lips!
