Is it just me, or is everyone having babies lately? From Beyoncé’s announcement of twins to Natalie Portman’s beautiful bump, pregnancy is all around us! And whether you’ve been pregnant or not, there’s a major change during this time that many forget about: their skin. I interviewed Enza Medispa‘s (almost-due!) aesthetician, Melissa, for her top 3 ways to keep your glow during those 9 months.
1. What is your #1 piece of advice during pregnancy?
Drink lots of water! Hormones go absolutely CRAZY during pregnancy! The number one skin concern when you’re pregnant is acne (yep, even as an adult). So, keeping extra hydrated is an absolute must. Not only will it combat those pregnancy aches and body issues, but it will benefit your skin, too!
2. What is one thing women tend to miss with their skin while pregnant?
Staying faithful to their skin regimen. I get it: by the end of the day, you are sooo tired that all you want to do is get into bed. But, before you do, you have to make sure to go through your skin care regimen! Now, more than ever, your body is going through tons of changes to accommodate for your future little one, and your skin is your biggest organ! Never skip out on your nighttime routine. Show skin some love before crawling under the covers!
3. Is it OK to use the same products you’ve been using before being pregnant?
Unfortunately, there are a lot of rules to follow when you’re pregnant…including when it comes to your skin care. Because you shouldn’t use salicylic acid for any breakouts, reach for a sulfur-based product to clean deep in your pores. It’s also a great idea to keep your skin balanced with a gentle exfoliator! Re-balancing your skin is key during this changing time.
Melissa’s biggest tip to keep your glow? Using Enza’s Sustaining Glow Creme! The Co-Q10 in this miracle product will leave your skin glowing bright for all 40 weeks.
In other pregnancy news, congratulations to glowing Enza girls Peta Murgatroyd (as her son turns one month old today) and Laura Prepon (who recently announced her pregnancy)!
