Winter weather can lead to skin that’s just…blah. I feel you! Luckily, there’s a handful of quick changes you can make RIGHT NOW to keep your skin in its best shape year-round! Take my advice: making these simple changes now will leave you feeling confident in your skin in no time!
1. Put your products in the fridge
This takes literally 30 seconds (depending on where your nearest fridge is) – so why not tackle this one first? The next time you apply your eye products, you’ll get an extra cooling sensation! This will help to a) wake you up and b) soothe any puffiness or inflammation. Keeping a Nutri-Gel in the fridge doesn’t hurt either – it will keep sunburns at bay this Spring Break!
2. Clean your phone screen
We use them on the daily…but do you know everything your phone has touched? Ew. Before putting that screen against your face, reach for a microfiber or moistened cloth (I’m a big fan of Well-Kept.™ screen towelettes) to keep bacteria and germs far from your face!
3. Drink water
If you’re like me, you have your water bottle within a few feet of you at. all. times. You already know the importance water has to keep your entire body hydrated, but it works even more wonders for your skin! When you moisturize the outside of your skin and hydrate from within, toxins will disappear. Drinking a glass of H2O when you wake up, before bed, and with every meal will leave you with a healthier, glowing complexion. (Add some extra oomph by infusing your water with fruit!)
4. Change your pillowcase
Sure, you wash your face every night like you’re supposed to (right?!), but there’s one more thing that touches your face…and for eight hours straight! Be sure to wash your pillowcases at least once a week. This will prevent oil bacteria build-up from your hair from getting on your skin! Also, swap your current pillowcase out for a silk one – the benefits are endless!
5. Wash your hands
Not only is it cold and flu season, but the number of germs that sit on your hands is shocking! Think of the amount of times you touch your face or simply rest your chin on your hands…a lot, right? Now, think of all those times you touch your hair or any door handle before touching your face…Yuck! Breakouts and blemishes thrive on bacteria – so get up now, and go wash your hands!
