NYFW: THE SHOWS. TOP LOOKS AND TRENDS TO WATCH

If you didn’t already know, NYFW: The Shows started yesterday. And WOW there are some new (and some not-so-new) trends on the horizon! Designers like Christian Siriano, Marissa Webb, and Georgine, really stood out with their looks. Below are my top looks and trends to watch for from the NYFW designers this season:

1. SNAPCHAT FILTERS

We all knew Snapchat would consume our lives, right? Check out these makeup looks by Desigual. This Barcelona-based fashion designer incorporated our favorite filters with some gorgeous runway styles. Would you rock a dog nose in real life? I think I’d prefer it on my screen.

2. BOLD LIPS

Matching the colors of the leaves is a BIG statement this season. The bolder you go, the better. Knowing the classic red lip never goes out of style, Christian Siriano brought his A-game to this NYFW. (Also, are these bold dresses not equally as gorgeous?!)

3. HINTS OF WHITE & SILVER

Nicholas K knows a thing or two about making eyes pop on the runway. Flecks of white and silver line these models’ eyes, and, dare I say it, I like it! Even with such large headpieces and bold, flowy outfits, their eyes STILL stand out. Make sure your eyes are in tip-top shape before applying this youthful makeup look.

4. NATURAL

The less-is-more look is definitely one to pay attention to this season. It’s time to let your natural glow shine through, ladies! Brock’s Collection from this NYFW shows just how gorgeous a virtually makeup-free appearance can be. Have skin issues you don’t feel comfortable showing off? Try a customized regimen for perfect skin.

5. CHOKERS

OK, raise your hand if you haven’t already jumped on this trend. Chokers made their comeback (where are my fellow 90s beauties?) for a casual season of tees, tanks, and denim. Thick or thin and of any material, this accessory is easily thrown into any look. For this next season, pair it with a blazer or LBD to make a dressed-up statement. From thin to thick to part of the outfit, check out the looks by Tadashi Shoji, Misha Collection, and TOME above.

What trends are catching your eye this NYFW?
