Khloe Kardashian’s scare and what it means for you:
No matter what time of year it is, skin cancer is a major issue (especially now). And celebrities are facing similar skin issues. Khloe Kardashian recently spoke up about a skin cancer scare she experienced – because of a mole on her back. That’s right; those tiny spots on your skin can cause huge damage. Fall is just around the corner, but let’s face it: the sun is always going to be shining down on you. Here are some tips to shield your skin from harm like skin cancer and prevent future damage:
1: Check yo’self
Khloe’s visit to the doc resulted in about eight inches of skin being removed from her back… yikes. To literally save your skin, thoroughly check your body over at all angles in the mirror to look for any suspicious moles. While you check, follow along with the ABCs of the chart below. Measure your marks and compare them to something that may be abnormal:
2: Cover up
I can’t stress it enough: USE SPF. Block out those damaging UVA/UVB rays with a sunscreen that’s at least 30 SPF. You can find this in Enza Essentials’ Advanced Protection SPF 30. This is such a lightweight product that I use it as a daily moisturizer and then some. Be sure to cover your skin with layers of clothing, a hat, and even sunglasses, even when using an SPF. Don’t be fooled – the sun can reach anything!
3: See a doc
Don’t hesitate to stop in and see your doctor as soon as you can if you feel like something has changed in your skin – a mole changed shape, color, or otherwise looks off. Skin cancer is much easier to fix in the preventative stages than it is to cure in the latter stages.
