I know I say it all the time, but sunscreen is seriously one of the best ways to protect your skin from premature aging. Without it, you’re increasing your risk of sunburns, visible aging, skin cancer, and overall damaged skin. You probably know to generously coat every exposed area (and reapply frequently!) but there are a few sneaky spots you might be overlooking:
If you’re rockin’ a pony or top-knot, you NEED to lather up your earlobes with some SPF. Trust me, you don’t want the tops (or any part!) or your ears to burn because flaky, peeling ears are not-so-hot.
Most people think their hair protects the scalp, but if you part your hair in any way, your scalp is 30 minutes away from looking like a lobster. Apply a lightweight sunscreen on your part and around your hairline. Another option? Try my super easy DIY Hair Sunscreen – it protects your scalp AND hair!
Have you ever experienced a sunburn on the tops of your feet? If you have, then I bet you NEVER forget to lather up your feet because you don’t want to go through that awful pain again. Slipping into shoes with sunburned feet is pretty much one of the worst things that can happen to you. Plus, you don’t want brown spots on your cute little feet, do you?
Under your straps.
Even though you’re fabulous at applying SPF on your exposed skin, you shouldn’t forget to lather up under the straps, too, as they can move around and show off that unprotected skin. Just to be safe, always apply sunscreen under your cute new bikini’s straps.
Do you forget to protect any of these areas? -xo Kayla
