BENEFITS OF SILK ON SKIN

I may be a bit of a diva (ok, maybe slightly more than just a bit) but there is a totally legitimate reason for it! Do you know that your skin craves silk? Yes, you heard that correctly! And now you have a perfectly good excuse to run to the mall this evening and buy those expensive silk sheets you’ve been eyeing up for months. Seriously.

Your body loves this fabric so much because silk is one of the closest things to actual skin. It even has the same pH level! Silk contains a certain fiber that helps boost cell turnover, which means that the fabric helps protect skin from aging.

Another reason silk is fabulous? It doesn’t soak up the moisture in your skin. If you sleep on silk pillowcases, your skin will be more hydrated with better skin elasticity. Also, this fabric won’t absorb the serums and cremes you lather on before bedtime, resulting in the products staying on longer and working better.

And because silk sheets and pillowcases are luxuriously soft and smooth, you won’t wake up with crease marks across your cheek, leading to fine lines and wrinkles later on. So, it’s basically necessary to be high maintenance and splurge on silk bedding. -xo Kayla

Wow! My grandmother always had silk pillowcases and always made sure I had some for my bed, this must be why!

True, true and nothing but the truth.
I have silk pillows and they’ve done wonders for minimising split ends! x

And my skin breaks out less with them as well. They aren’t even that expensive to buy. Definitely worth it x
